Deletion in the DNA encoding the carboxy-terminus of the wg protein.
C-terminal deletion.
macrochaeta & scutum
microchaeta & scutum
Loss of function allele at 25oC and an antimorphic allele at 17oC. At 17oC wgSp-1/wgS84 flies are wild type. Combination of wgspd-fg wgS84 at 25oC causes alular etching. At 17oC this etching phenotype is enhanced and causes loss of ventral structures, truncations and complete loss of legs. wgspd-fg wgSp-m2/wgS84 flies shifted to 17oC postembryonically exhibit further wing etching, leg disturbances, loss of terminal structures of the proboscis, macrochaetes and microchaetes on the notum, one or both antenna and abdominal sternites. wgspd-fg wgSp-1/wgS84 flies shifted to 17oC postembryonically also show enhancement of the wing etching phenotype, occasional loss of one or both antennae and dorsocentral rows of microchaetes, occasional sternites are missing but no sign of either the leg phenotypes or the aDC macrochaetae loss. At 25oC wgSp-1/wgS84 and wgspd-fg wgSp-1/wgS84 flies lose aDC macrochaetes.
Dominant enhancer of Ser null mutations at 17oC, flies die as pupae with nicks in the wing margin.
Protein is secreted. Antimorphic at 17oC, null at 25oC. Has an antimorphic effect on N at 17oC. Shows strong allele-specific interaction with Nnd-2, and no interaction with NM1.
Null at 25oC and an antimorph at 17oC.
