In a small proportion of embryos with two copies of twe+t10, there is an additional mitosis prior to cellularization. A high proportion (almost 90%) of Df(3L)BK10 mutant embryos with two copies of twe+t10 have an extra (14th) cleavage division prior to cellularization.
