      The maxillary-mandibular boundary is not affected in groB48 mutant embryos, but the overall morphology of the gnathal lobes is abnormal.

      Embryos homozygous for lethal gro mutations show highly variable neurogenic phenotypes with incomplete penetrance. This allele shows a weak neurogenic phenotype over Df(3R)Espl4.
