      The survival rate of Adhfn6/+ heterozygotes carrying three copies of Adhw.PR on culture medium containing increasing amounts of alcohol is intermediate between that of Adhfn6 homozygotes and wild-type flies.

      Reduces expression from wAdh.PB in a dose dependent manner. This cosuppression acts through the endogenous Adh gene: it is not seen in a Df(2L)fn3/Df(2L)A379 background, but is restored when P{Adh.Wa-F} is introduced into the genotype.

      Flies carrying increasing copy numbers of P{Adhw.PR} show a gradual reduction in transgene as well as endogenous Adh expression with increasing transgene dosage. This "co-suppression" is not influenced by za, but is strongly affected by Pcunspecified and Pclunspecified.
