Description

Insertion of 1.1kb P-element in the 5' untranslated region, in the opposite transcriptional orientation to the y gene. The P-element is the same size, and is inserted in the same position as y1#7, but the P-element is in opposite orientation relative to the y gene in the two alleles.

Insertion of a P-element into y at +76bp (in the transcribed untranslated region). The P-element is inserted in the opposite orientation to that in y1#7.

Insertion of a 1.1kb P-element integrated 76bp downstream from the mRNA cap site in the 5' transcribed, untranslated portion of the y gene, in the opposite orientation to the transcription of y.

Pigmentation of the thoracic, leg and abdominal bristles is further reduced in combination with e(y)11.

The phenotype is enhanced by ph-pP1; pigmentation of the body, and of the thoracic, leg, wing and abdominal bristles is further reduced in y76d28 ph-pP1 flies.
