Some homozygotes exhibit the disturbance of puparium formation characteristic for hfw mutants.

About 2.5% homozygous larvae pupariate only in anterior part of the body ('half way'). Most individuals die when they are mature pupae.

Some homozygous larvae exhibit puparium formation only on the anterior half of the body.

No late larval or pupal puffs in polytene chromosomes of homozygotes (Belyaeva and Zhimulev, 1986). late prepupal lethal
