The posterolateral medulla is fused with the adjacent lobula plate in hemizygous flies. Optic lobe position is abnormal.

Failure of salivary gland degeneration. Reduction in dorso-ventral class of indirect flight muscles. Some show proventriculus abnormality: foregut-midgut junction less proventriculus-like in appearance.

41% penetrance of abnormal SEG-TG separation phenotype, 55% of individuals show an abnormal optic lobe position and 35% a brain fusion failure.

'rbp' and br phenotype. Development of the early ecdysone puff in region 2B3--2B5 is not affected.

Lethal period is between pupal ecdysis and formation of the nonpigmented pupal legs and wings.

br6/br7 combination is lethal. Few adult escapers survive with short, broad wings. Adults of the br6/brrbp-3 or br6/brrbp-4 combination have reduced number of bristles on the palpus and have short, broad wings. Heterozygotes with Df(1)br25 have reduced viability and br wings.
