Comments

FLP-mediated recombination between the PBac{RB}e03842 and P{XP}sovd07849 insertions has resulted in the deletion of the genomic sequence between them, deleting the sov and lncRNA:CR43496 genes.

Scer\FRT-mediated recombination between the two progenitor insertions has resulted in the deletion of the genomic sequence between them.

Phenotypic Data
In combination with other aberrations

Df(1)sov female germline clones do not produce vitellogenic egg chambers or mature eggs, a phenotype that is rescued by Dp(1;3)DC486.

The lethality of Df(1)sov is rescued by Dp(1;3)sn13a1 and Dp(1;3)DC486.

NOT in combination with other aberrations

Df(1)sov is recessive lethal, as individuals do not reach adulthood; heterozygotes are viable and fertile. The lethality is rescued by sovFSTF-sfGFP.

Df(1)sov is a dominant suppressor of position-effect variegation by P{hsp26-pt-T}118E-10, P{hsp26-pt-T}Dyrk3118E-15, P{hsp26-pt-T}118E-3, P{hsp26-pt-T}39C-2 or P{hsp26-pt-T}39C-12.

Df(1)sov female germline clones do not produce vitellogenic egg chambers or mature eggs.
