Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In this case, the "Export to Hitlist" button at left will also be disabled.
    Phenotypic Data
    In combination with other aberrations
NOT in combination with other aberrations

Because of the In(1)wm4/wa constitution, C(1)M4 females without a Y chromosome display strong variegation, those with YS moderate variegation and those with YL or a complete Y almost no variegation. A powerful enhancer of autosomal recombination, but has low viability in combination with autosomal rearrangements.

    Notes on Origin
    Discoverer

    Craymer, May 1972.

exchange of the proximal heterochromatin of In(1)wm4 + AB and the distal heterochromatin of FM7

    Induced on: In(1)wm4 In(1)AB.

    Separable Components

    Other Comments

Detachment rate approximately 1/15,000. Useful in maintenance of XY-bearing stocks without a free Y. Some derivatives are marked with y2 bb-.
