Axons from ScerGAL4VT039046 expressing neurons terminate in the adult subesophageal zone with their dendritic compartments located near the pars intercerebralis and esophagus. Positive GRASP (GFP reconstitution across synaptic partners) signals between adult Hugin neurons labelled with EcollexAGMR61H10 and DH44 neurons labelled with ScerGAL4VT039046 were observed in the adult subesophageal zone, near the esophagus, and along the midline of the brain.

ScerGAL4VT039046 drives expression in a subset of six ScerGAL4Kurs58 positive neurons of the adult pars intercerebralis (PI) recapitulating endogenous Dh44 protein expression. GFP reconstitution across synaptic partners (GRASP) shows a connection between ScerGAL4VT039046 positive PI neurons and EcollexAClk.4.1M.T:HsimVP16 positive DN1p neurons.
