ScerGAL4Gr93d.2.4 drives expression in a single pair of L2 GRNs in the adult labral sense organ that are maintained during the transition from larva (where they are known as gustatory receptor neurons of the epiphysis) to adult. These neurons send axonal projections in an umbrella like pattern to the left and right dorsal regions of the subesophageal zone and co-express (in separate experiments) ScerGAL4Gr2a.2.2, ScerGAL4Gr23a.3.5, and ScerGAL4Gr57a.6. Expression is also seen in projections from an L2 GRN in the labellum that reach into the central part of the subesophageal zone.
ScerGAL4Gr93d.2.4 drives expression in the following series of neurons. Larval gustatory receptor neuron of the epiphysis DP3 where it is coexpressed with ScerGAL4Gr2a.2.2, ScerGAL4Gr23a.3.5, and ScerGAL4Gr57a.6. Larval gustatory receptor neuron of the hypopharyngeal organ PP3 where it is coexpressed with ScerGAL4Gr33a.4.7, ScerGAL4Gr66a.1.8, ScerGAL4Gr32a.3.7.PW, ScerGAL4Gr22b.5.8, ScerGAL4Gr39a.a.3.4, ScerGAL4Gr39b.4.4, ScerGAL4Gr39a.d.1.7, ScerGAL4Gr93c.3.8 and ScerGAL4Gr28a.PT Larval gustatory receptor neuron of the hypopharyngeal organ PP4 where it is coexpressed with ScerGAL4Gr33a.4.7, ScerGAL4Gr66a.1.8, ScerGAL4Gr22b.5.8, ScerGAL4Gr39a.a.3.4, ScerGAL4Gr39b.4.4, ScerGAL4Gr39a.d.1.7, ScerGAL4Gr93c.3.8 and ScerGAL4Gr28a.PT. Larval gustatory receptor neuron of the hypopharyngeal organ PP5 and PP6 where it is coexpressed with ScerGAL4Gr28a.PT.
ScerGAL4Gr93d.2.4 drives expression in two gustatory receptor neurons of the larval posterior pharyngeal sense organ (PPS or hypopharyngeal sense organ).
