ScerGAL4^Gr57a.6 drives expression in a single pair of L2 GRNs in the adult labral sense organ that are maintained during the transition from larva (where they are known as gustatory receptor neurons of the epiphysis) to adult. These neurons send axonal projections in an umbrella like pattern to the left and right dorsal regions of the subesophageal zone and co-express (in separate experiments) ScerGAL4^Gr2a.2.2, ScerGAL4^Gr23a.3.5, and ScerGAL4^Gr93d.2.4. Expression is also seen in projections from an L2 GRN in the labellum that reach into the central part of the subesophageal zone.

ScerGAL4^Gr57a.6 drives expression in larval gustatory receptor neuron of the epiphysis DP3 where it is coexpressed with ScerGAL4^Gr2a.2.2, ScerGAL4^Gr23a.3.5, and ScerGAL4^Gr93d.2.4.

ScerGAL4^Gr57a.6 is expressed in gustatory neurons of 5 of the bitter-sensitive short labellar taste bristles.

ScerGAL4^Gr57a.6 is expressed in a few of the short bitter-sensitive sensilla of the labellum.

ScerGAL4^Gr57a.6 drives expression in two neurons of the larval terminal organ. One of these neurons co-expresses ScerGAL4^Gr33a.4.7, ScerGAL4^Gr39a.a.3.4, ScerGAL4^Gr66a.1.8, ScerGAL4^Gr47b.2, ScerGAL4^Gr59d.4.1 and ScerGAL4^Gr94a.3.7. The other expresses ScerGAL4^Gr33a.4.7, ScerGAL4^Gr66a.1.8 and ScerGAL4^Gr97a.1. Expression of ScerGAL4^Gr57a.6 is also detected in one neuron of the dorsal pharyngeal sense organ (DPS or epiphysis).
