Construct: Amino acid replacement: L1P. Amino acid replacement: Y12F. Amino acid replacement: T23F. Amino acid replacement: M35I. Amino acid replacement: I61L. Amino acid replacement: Q62R. Amino acid replacement: I64V. Amino acid replacement: L67I. All of the amino acids in the homeodomain and C terminus conserved region are changed to the equivalent residue in abd-A. The numbering is from the first amino acid in the homeodomain. Expression of this mutated Ubx1a is driven by Hsp70 promoter.
