A EcollacZ reporterconstruct driven by a 498 bp distal Hsrω promoter is expressed at lowerlevels than that driven by a 844 bp promoter in imaginal discs, in the brainhemispheres and the ventral ganglia of third instar larvae. Expression isdetected in the nurse cell, and in the testis during mid-spermatogenesis.Expression is also detected in the prothoracic gland. Unlike wild-typeHsrω transcript, reporter construct expression is also detected in thewing blade, optic lobe, and follicle cells and oocytes of adult flies.
