Reference

Intense EcollacZ reporter geneexpression is observed in nurse cells and oocytes but not in thesurrounding follicle cells. Staining is also observed in the anterior tipof the germarium reflecting expression at very early stages of oogenesis.In males, staining is observed at the anterior tip of the testes in cellsthat are thought to be germ line stem cells or developing cysts of primaryspermatocytes.
