Reference

EcollacZ is expressed during oogenesis, and is first detected in germarium region 2a, peaks in germarium region 2b, and subsequently decreases and has disappeared by stage S3. Expression is detected once more at stage S8, in the oocyte, and persists through the rest of oogenesis.

In females, expressed in both somatic and germline tissues of the ovary. Expression repressed in offspring of P cytotype females crossed to males carrying insertion: strong to complete repression in germline; less efficient repression in ovarian somatic tissues.
