Description

Insertion lines from this collection were assessed for inclusion in the Gene Disruption Project collection.

A set of mutant stocks derived by insertional mutagenesis using the P-element construct P{PZ}; most lines have a lethal or sterile phenotype. The P{PZ} construct carries a ry[+] visible marker, Ecol\lacZ enhancer trap sequences, and bacterial sequences that allow plasmid rescue.

Reporter expression was examined in the adult posterior midgut. A high level of expression was observed in the inner circular muscles and a low level was observed in the outer longitudinal muscles but none was detected in any epithelial cells.

EcollacZvn-10567 expression is stronger in the inner layer of circular visceral muscle than in the outer larval of longitudinal visceral muscle in the larval midgut.

Expression is observed in the region of the pupal antenna that is occupied mainly by coeloconic sensilla. Expression is not observed in glial cells.
