EcollacZ^caps-02937 drives expression in a dynamic pattern in the eye disc; initially at the morphogenetic furrow of the eye, at a lower level in all cells immediately posterior to the morphogenetic furrow, then becoming restricted to R8 photoreceptor cells.

EcollacZ^caps-02937 was expressed in two circular domains covering Ta5 and a broad band spanning the tibia and Ta1 in the L3 leg disc. This specific pattern was maintained after eversion of the pupal leg discs. EcollacZ^caps-02937 expression was first detected at early L3 in a pattern overlapping with the Bar proteins, and it became excluded from the Al positive cells at mid L3. At this stage, Trn was expressed in EcollacZ^caps-02937-expressing cells. By late L3, the internal (distal) limit of the ring of EcollacZ^caps-02937 expression precisely coincided with that of Bar in the Ta5 cells, and abutted the expression of Al and Fas2.
