In third instar larvae, enhancer trap expression is observed in the eye disc but not in other discs. Expression is seen in all differentiating photoreceptors and cone cells as well as in uncommitted cells. In pupal eye discs, expression occurs in cone cells, in pigment cells, and in one cell of the bristle group.
