Complementation crosses were carried out with a stock containing the mutation originally called l(2)34Eb2 (FBal0008433).
BDSC has a single stock that currently has the genotype
3584    Ance34Eb-2 AdhD pr1 cn1/CyO, AdhnB
Non-Curly progeny were not recovered when flies from this stock were crossed to flies from the following stocks:
24369  w1118; Df(2L)BSC345/CyO
26546  w1118; Df(2L)BSC694, P+PBac{w+mC=XP3.WH3}BSC694/SM6a
81032  w*; Smg5G115 P{ry+t7.2=neoFRT}40A/CyO, P{w+mC=Dfd-EYFP}2
81033  w*; Smg5C391 P{ry+t7.2=neoFRT}40A/CyO
As controls, non-Curly progeny were not recovered from the following crosses:
26546 x 81033
24369 x 81032
24369 x 81033
24369 x 26546
26546 x 81032
These results are consistent with similar complementation tests in Kim et al., 2017, Sci. Rep. 7(1): 13174 (FBrf0236982), confirming that l(2)34Eb is allelic to Smg5 and not the Ance gene, as suggested in that paper.
