A single G nucleotide is deleted at position 329 of mle cDNA GB:M74121.
The sequence in mle1 is 	GATGCTG-TGCTTCG
Instead of 			GATGCTGGTGCTTCG
This leads to a frameshift, with the first stop codon at aa 125.
The sequencing was done in the 1990's and has not since been confirmed.
No mle protein is observed on Western blots or by immunoflurescence in the mutants.
