Gene Group (FlyBase)
PEPTIDYL-LYSINE 5-DIOXYGENASES -
Peptidyl-lysine 5-dioxygenases catalyze the hydroxylation of protein L-lysine to protein 5-hydroxy-L-lysine, where 2-oxoglutarate and one other donor act as hydrogen or electron donors with incorporation of one atom of oxygen into each donor.
PROCOLLAGEN GALACTOSYLTRANSFERASES -
Procollagen galactosyltransferases catalyze the transfer of a galactosyl group from UDP-galactose to lysine residues in procollagen. (Adapted from PMID: 19075007.)
UNCLASSIFIED GLUCOSYLTRANSFERASES -
This group comprises glucosyltransferases that do not classify under other groups in FlyBase.
Protein Function (UniProtKB)
Forms hydroxylysine residues in collagen type IV (By similarity). Required for the secretion of collagen type IV (vkg) from haemocytes, fat body and follicle cells (PubMed:23369713, PubMed:20888931).

If you don't see a structure in the viewer, refresh your browser.
Model Confidence:
  • Very high (pLDDT > 90)
  • Confident (90 > pLDDT > 70)
  • Low (70 > pLDDT > 50)
  • Very low (pLDDT < 50)

AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

Additional Descriptive Data

Plod transcript is not detected until embryonic stage 12. Plod transcript expression is high in hemocytes and fat bodies at embryonic stages 15-17.

Little or no Plod expression is observed in early embryos. Plod transcripts are detected in hemocytes starting in embryonic stage 12 and continuing throughout embryogenesis. Expression is found in hemocytes populating the whole embryo including those in the head and surrounding the CNS. Expression in fat body is seen at stage 13 and occurs at high levels in later stages.
