GGAs (Golgi-localizing, Gamma-adaptin ear domain homology, ARF-binding proteins) are monomeric clathrin adaptor proteins. They share homology with the C-terminal ear domain of the γ adaptin AP1 subunit. GGAs regulate clathrin-mediated the transport of proteins from the trans-Golgi network to endosomes and lysosomes through interactions with TGN-sorting receptors. (Adapted from PMID:10611976).
