A 2 bp deletion creating a frameshift mutation starting at the 88th codon.
A 2bp deletion early in the kmr coding region causes a frameshift.
kmr2/kmr2 flies display misoriented hair patterns on the wing, thorax and eyes, while heterozygotes exhibit phenotypes similar to wild-type controls. A misoriented wing hair pattern can also be observed in kmr2/Df(3R)Exel6170 flies, but not in +/Df(3R)Exel6170 heterozygotes.
kmr2/kmr2 pupae lose the asymmetric distribution of planar cell polarity proteins in the wing disc epithelium characteristic of controls.
dsh3/dsh[+], kmr2 has abnormal planar polarity | adult stage phenotype
dsh75/dsh[+], kmr2 has visible | adult stage phenotype

dsh1/dsh[+], kmr2 has abnormal planar polarity | adult stage phenotype
dsh3/dsh[+], kmr2 has visible | adult stage phenotype
dsh1/dsh[+], kmr2 has interommatidial bristle phenotype
dsh3/dsh[+], kmr2 has thoracic tergum phenotype

Double-heterozygous flies of the genotype kmr2/+ together with dsh[1]/+, dsh[3]/+ or dsh[75]/+ display misoriented hair patterns on the wing, thorax and eyes, while single heterozygotes exhibit phenotypes similar to wild-type controls.
