Insertion of cDNA containing exon 10A into the attP site within the TI{TI}Dscam2founder line, resulting in a single Dscam2 isoform being expressed from the endogenous locus.
abnormal size | adult stage (with Dscam210B)
In Dscam210A/Dscam210A and Dscam210A/Dscam210B flies lamina monopolar neurons L1 and L2 have significantly reduced axonal arbors in their respective correctly targeted medulla layers. Axonal tiling within medulla columns is maintained and the gross morphology of the optic lobe is indistinguishable from wild-type controls.
Dscam210A/Dscam210A somatic clones of lamina monopolar neurons L1 in a Dscam210A/+ background have severely constricted axonal arbors in medulla layer M1 (nut not M5) and some display a tiling defect: axonal arbors extend laterally into neighbouring columns in medulla layers M1 and/or M5. Somatic clones of lamina monopolar neurons L2 display a similar arbor morphology to wild-type controls.
