Expression of GlosGD17786 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR has no effect on flight ability of adult flies, mobility of the third instar larvae or shape of pupae and Scer\GAL4elav-C155-driven expression does not impair adult viability.
Expression of GlosGD17786, together with UAS-Dicer2 to enhance RNAi efficiency, is lethal at both 25[o]C or 29[o]C if driven by Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL, Scer\GAL4da.G32, Scer\GAL4how-24B or Scer\GAL4c179 and at 25[o]C only if driven by Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407 (but only partially lethal at 29[o]C). Adult viability is not significantly reduced if GlosGD17786 is controlled by Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6, Scer\GAL4elav-C155, Scer\GAL4G7 or Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR. Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL-, Scer\GAL4da.G32- or Scer\GAL4c179-driven expression is lethal at both temperatures (and at just 29[o]C with Scer\GAL4how-24B) even without the UAS-Dicer2.
The climbing (especially at late adulthood) as well as the flight ability of flies expressing GlosGD17786 (with UAS-Dicer2) under the control of either Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR or Scer\GAL4elav-C155 is strongly reduced and the adult survival rate is also significantly decreased with the Scer\GAL4elav-C155 driver.
