The expression of Cdk9D199N.Scer\UAS.SR under the control of either Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407 or Scer\GAL4pnt-14-94 leads to third instar larval brain neuroblasts which do not exhibit obvious changes in cortical polarity or in number per brain lobe, as compared to controls.

The co-expression of Cdk9D199N.Scer\UAS.SR fully suppresses the increased number of type II neuroblasts in third instar larval brains resulting from either the expression of NScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5,T:Zzzz\His6 alone, E(spl)mγ-HLHScer\UAS.cLb alone or the co-expression of lilliScer\UAS.SR.T:Zzzz\FLAG and Su(Tpl)Scer\UAS.SR.T:Hsap\MYC, under the control of Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407. The combined expression of Cdk9D199N.Scer\UAS.SR and E(spl)mγ-HLHScer\UAS.cLb partially suppresses the increased number of neuroblasts in third instar larval brains resulting from the expression of NScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5,T:Zzzz\His6 under the control of Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407.

The co-expression of Cdk9D199N.Scer\UAS.SR also fully suppresses the increased number of neuroblasts in third instar larval brain lobes resulting from the expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 under the control of either Scer\GAL4pnt-14-94 or Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407.
