Knocking down the fwe lose-A and lose-B isoforms through expression of fwe^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS.Lhp} under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR.PF results in an almost complete reduction in the physiological peripheral photoreceptor cell death seen in control pupae.
