Adulthood-only expression of Sox100B^NIG.15552R under the control of Scer\GAL4^NP5130 (and GAL80[ts] for the temporal control of expression) induces a decrease in mitotic index in the midgut, even in the setting of regenerative proliferation upon injury by DSS treatment or Pseudomonas entomophilia infection. DSS treatment induces fewer ISC pairs than controls.

Adulthood-only expression of Sox100B^NIG.15552R under the control of Scer\GAL4^Dl-05151-G (and GAL80[ts] for the temporal control of expression) also induces a decrease in mitotic index in the midgut.

Adulthood-generated midgut clones expressing Sox100B^NIG.15552R under the control of Scer\GAL4^Act.PU are smaller than control clones and are composed of enteroblasts and devoid of enterocytes.
