The P{UAS-NTF} construct allows purification of nuclei from cells via in vivo biotin-labelling of the nuclear envelope followed by affinity purification of the nuclei. The use of tissue-specific Scer\GAL4 drivers to drive expression of P{UAS-NTF} potentially allows nuclei to be purified from a large variety of cell types.
