UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
VL3 muscles expressing klarHMS01612 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU or Scer\GAL4twi.PU exhibit nuclear positioning defects. Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU-driven expression in larval VL3 muscles induces significantly shorter internuclear distances, longer nucleus-muscle edge distance, and shorter distance between nuclear lines, as compared to controls; embryonic LT muscles show no changes in the distances between the dorsal or ventral end of the muscle and the nearest nucleus, but nuclei cluster near the ventral end of the muscles. Scer\GAL4twi.PU-driven expression in larval VL3 muscles induces shorter internuclear distances, but no changes in nucleus-muscle edge distance or distance between nuclear lines, as compared to controls; embryonic LT muscles show a significantly longer distance between the dorsal end of the muscle and the nearest nucleus and a significantly shorter distance between the ventral end of the muscle and the nearest nucleus.
