UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
The expression of dppJF02794 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU or Scer\GAL4how-24B, leads to partial lethality and increased mortality before adulthood, respectively, as compared to controls; their larval midguts also exhibit a decreased acid zone, but only individuals with Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU-driven expression exhibit a shortened gastric caeca and impaired food clearing during the wandering stage, as compared to controls.
