Expression of par-1dsRNA.Scer\UAS.cMDa under the control of Scer\GAL4c306 disrupts border follicle cell migration, such that only approximately 60% of border cells complete migration. The severity of the border cell migration defects are increased if the flies are also heterozygous for par-127C1, par-1Δ-16 or par-170D3.

Border follicle cells expressing par-1dsRNA.Scer\UAS.cMDa under the control of Scer\GAL4c306 extend protrusions as occurs in wild-type border cells, but in contrast to wild-type cells, where the protrusions are extended mainly in the forward direction (in the direction of migration), in the mutant cells forward protrusions are decreased at the expense of backward and lateral protrusions.
