UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Adult flies expressing AchlJF01976 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 (together with UAS-Dicer2 to enhance RNAi efficiency) have heterogeneous defects in their morphology and show increased survival rate upon infection (septic injury) with either Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Staphylococcus aureus and lower bacterial load at 24 hr post-infection compared to controls. However, the overall adult lifespan of these knock-down flies (without immunological challenge) as well as their survival rate under starvation is significantly decreased.
