Expression of lvaDN.Scer\UAS in dendritic arborising neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4109(2)80 causes dendrite reduction and field shrinkage.

Expression of lvaDN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4477 in class IV dendritic arborization (da) neurons alters the distribution of Golgi outposts in these cells. In the distal part of the dendritic arbors, the size of the Golgi outposts is decreased, while in the proximal part of the dendritic arbors, the size of the Golgi outposts is increased. The number and size of Golgi structures in the soma of these cells is unaltered. The number of dendritic branches in distal dendrites is dramatically reduced, while that in proximal dendrites is increased in these cells.

One copy of Lrrke03680 suppresses the reduction in dendritic ends seen when lvaDN.Scer\UAS is expressed in dendritic arborizing neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4109(2)80. Adding one copy of Df(3R)del6 further suppresses the phenotype.
