Expressing kisGD16331 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU leads to a glossy, rough eye phenotype.

Expression of kisGD16331 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU results in a significant increase in the total number of boutons at the neuromuscular junction in third instar larvae.

Expression of kisGD16331 under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B (in the presence of a Dcr-2-expressing line to enhance RNAi efficiency) results in a significant increase in the total number of boutons at the neuromuscular junction in third instar larvae. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU does not have this effect.

Expression of kisGD16331 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU (in the presence of a Dcr-2-expressing line to enhance RNAi efficiency) results in a significant increase in the total number of synaptic branches at the neuromuscular junction in third instar larvae. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B does not have this effect.

Both the frequency of muscle contractions and total crawling distance are significantly reduced compared to wild type in larvae expressing kisGD16331 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B does not have this effect.

Expression of kisGD16331 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 or Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in late pupal lethality at 25[o]C.

Flies expressing kisGD16331 under the control of either Scer\GAL4DJ757, Scer\GAL4c309 or Scer\GAL4OK307 show a reduction in climbing ability in the first 10 days after eclosion compared to controls.

Males expressing kisGD16331 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 show an appropriate learned response in a conditioned courtship suppression assay (similar to wild-type males, they show a significant drop in courtship behaviour in the last 10 minutes of training compared to the first 10 minutes when placed in a courtship chamber with a previously mated (unreceptive) female for 60 minutes). However, the males are deficient in their immediate recall memory, failing to show a decrease in courtship activity compared to sham-trained wild-type flies when tested within 2 minutes of being transferred to a mating chamber with a receptive virgin female.

Flies expressing kisGD16331 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have disrupted external eye morphology, with the eye having a slightly rough and significantly glassy appearance.

Adults expressing kisGD16331 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in late pupal lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in loss of bristles on the notum in 30-40% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 50-60% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum.
