UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of SLC22AGD2773 RNAi in all mushroom body neurons (using one of the following drivers Scer\GAL4238Y, Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 with UAS-Dicer2 to enhance RNAi efficiency) results in significant 3hr memory enhancement in an olfactory classical conditioning assay in adult flies. Memory enhancement is also seen when the SLC22AGD2773 RNAi expression is driven in the dopamine neurons using the Scer\GAL4ple.PU driver (with UAS-Dicer2 to enhance RNAi efficiency).
Odor (Benzaldehyde and Octanol) and shock (electrical) avoidance was normal (tested with Scer\GAL4238Y).
Adults expressing CG7442GD2773 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
