Detailed Description
Statement

Flies expressing Atg6GD11647 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU have similar lifespan and locomotion as wild-type controls.

The expression of Atg6GD11647 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU leads to a significant increase in the number of ommatidia and disrupts the ommatidial array, as compared to controls. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL leads to a significant decrease in longevity and to a progressive decrease in adult locomotor ability in climbing assays, as compared to controls.

Adults expressing Atg6GD11647 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

w The decreased number of ommatidia and the disrupted ommatidial array induced by the expression of Atg6GD11647 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU are suppressed by the co-expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa.

Co-expression of Atg6GD11647 does not significantly alter the persistent salivary gland phenotype seen in mir-14Δ1 homozygotes 24 hours after pupariation.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The co-expression of Atg6GD11647 and Hsap\SNCAScer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU leads to a decrease in the number of ommatidia and consequent disruption of the ommatidial array, both of which are more severe than upon each single expression condition.

The co-expression of Atg6GD11647 enhances the decreased longevity, but not the progressive decrease in adult locomotion, induced by the expression of Hsap\SNCAScer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL.
