Tv neuron & axon, with Scer\GAL4FMRFa.PS

Tv neuron & filopodium, with Scer\GAL4FMRFa.PS

Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Larvae expressing EcRdsRNA.B1.Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4C-765 do not reach critical weight prematurely.

Tv neurons expressing EcRdsRNA.B1.Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4Fmrf.PS, show normal larval neurohemal organs at pupariation, but by 24 hours APF, the neurons still have larval-like arbors, although such arbors are reduced in size compared with larval stages. There are no visible adult-like branches at 24 hours APF, but by 48 hours APF EcRdsRNA.B1.Scer\UAS.cSa-expressing neurons have a dense, clumped axon arbor that is surrounded by a reduced adult-like arbor. There are no filopodia during the normal pruning phase (12-18 hours APF); these first appear at 24-28 hours APF and form stable, fasciculated branches, resulting in an adult arbor with both larval and adult characteristics.
