Expression of lwr^DN.Scer\UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4^tub or Scer\GAL4^e33C prevents hatching in 18% of embryos and causes cuticle defects in some embryos. Expression of lwr^DN.Scer\UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4^Cg.PA or Scer\GAL4^e33C leads to increased levels of hemocytes, particularly of lamellocytes, in the hemolymph of larvae compared to wild type. In contrast, expression with the fat body-specific Scer\GAL4^Lsp2.PH driver does not affect hemocyte levels.
