Mmus\Atoh1^Scer\UAS.cQa; Scer\GAL4^dpp.blk1 flies have large numbers of ectopic sensory bristles around the A-P compartment boundary of their wings, along with ectopic chordotonal organs. Mmus\Atoh1^Scer\UAS.cQa with Scer\GAL4^C5 induces a number of ectopic microchaetae on the scutellum.

Co-expression of Mmus\Atoh1^Scer\UAS.cQa almost completely suppresses the formation of eye tumours seen in 'eyeful' (Scer\GAL4^ey.PH, Dl^Scer\UAS.cDa, psq^GS88A8, lola^GS88A8) flies.

The ectopic scutellar microchaetae phenotype of Mmus\Atoh1^Scer\UAS.cQa; Scer\GAL4^C5 flies is partially suppressed by sens^E1/+.
