border follicle cell & filopodium
In Act5Cslbo.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP (2 copies of 'strong' insertion P{slbo-EGFP::Act5C}2) animals the initiation of border follicle cell migration is inhibited. Arrested or delayed border cell clusters initially form normal looking cellular extensions, but these continue to grow as the border cell bodies fail to move. The extensions become very long and cease to be straight (as wild-type are), but continue to extend in the correct direction. These extra long cellular extensions sometimes fragment. Occasionally, a second border cell forms a second long cellular extension that follows a separate path.
Act5Cslbo.EGFP, Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6, psidinUAS.cKa has border follicle cell phenotype
Co-expression of Act5Cslbo.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP and of psidinScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 results in a strong inhibition of border follicle cell migration.
