Ectopic expression of capsED.Scer\UAS, a construct lacking the extracellular part, in the developing eye, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, does not induce any mistargeting of R7 axons, indicating that the ectodomain is essential for caps function.

Expression of capsED.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sev.PM181 does not induce any mistargeting of R7 axons, indicating that the ectodomain is essential for caps function.

Embryos that express capsED.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4twi.PG show normal development of the tracheal system.

Third instar larvae expressing capsED.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu at 29oC show no defects in the trajectory of the motorneurons that innervate muscle 12. Expression of capsED.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B does not result in an increased frequency of the terminals of motorneurons that normally innervate muscle 12 forming ectopic synapses on muscle 13.
