Deletion removing 1136bp from the 5' proximal region of Spp.
1136bp deletion starting from the site of the P{PZ}lwr05486 insertion and extending proximally, removing part of the first exon of lwr and extending into Spp.
Spp14 mutants (Df(2L)lwr14 homozygotes in which the loss of lwr function has been rescued using lwr+t2.4) fail to develop beyond the larval period. These animals arrest growth soon after embryo hatching, surviving for as much as several weeks as small second instar larvae. This phenotype is also seen in animals dervied from Df(2L)lwr14, lwr+t2.4 germline clones. Only 15% of first instar larval show normal tracheal air filling.
