When tkvDN.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237, a strong thorax cleft phenotype is seen in the adult. Both hemi-nota remain extremely contracted and isolated. Naked cuticle joins the two heminota. When tkvDN.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4LE a milder thorax cleft phenotype is seen in the adult. Cuticular polarity defects are seen at the midline. Occasionally stronger defects are seen.
