Border cells in the ovaries of vnEPg35521; Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 animals form significantly fewer long cellular extensions (20-40 μm) and intermediate cellular extensions (10-20 μm).

Border cell migration is affected when vnEPg35521 is expressed under the control of either Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 or Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 or both Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 and Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16.

Co-expression of vnEPg35521 and EgfrScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 results in strong defects in border cell migration, with no migration being seen in approximately 80% of stage 10 egg chambers.

The addition of PvrScer\UAS.cDa suppresses the effect of vnEPg35521 (driven by Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6). The addition of vnEPg35521 to PvrDN.Scer\UAS (driven by Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6) leads to a strong enhancement of the migration defect.
