The median lifespan for prosV2 animals (the age after egg laying at which 50% of homozygotes have died) is 7.57 days at 25oC.
Homozygous second instar larvae are indifferent to 0.1M sucrose in a taste response assay, in contrast to wild-type larvae which are significantly attracted by sucrose. They are repulsed by 0.3M NaCl (as are wild-type larvae).
The courtship index of heterozygous males towards decapitated Canton-S males is not significantly different from that of wild-type males towards decapitated Canton-S males. Lethality of homozygotes occurs throughout most developmental stages.
Only a few homozygotes die during preimaginal development and more than 85% of homozygotes eclose. The surviving adults never survive for more than 48 hours after eclosion.
