Temperature- and dose-sensitive overexpression of stanΔEX.Scer\UAS with Scer\GAL4HLHmδ results in ommatidial axon cartridges containing abnormal numbers of R cell axons.

When transfected into a weakly aggregating S2 cell line, stanΔEX.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb fails to induce cell aggregation. When in expressed in the wing under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, no effect is seen in the polarity of wing hairs.

In stanE59/stan72 animals, neuronal expression of stanΔEX.Scer\UAS partially rescues the number of type II-innervated muscles from 70.5% to 55.7%, partially rescues the number of ectopic type I synapses from 14.8% to 8.8%, but does not rescue the loss of synaptic innervation of muscles 6, 7, 12 and 13.
