When expression is driven is imaginal disc cells by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP the size of the cells is reduced (as measured by FSC (forward scatter)). Cells are reduced in size in both G1 and S+G2. Overexpression of Pi3K21BScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 or Pi3K21BScer\UAS.Δ.T:Ivir\HA1 is sufficient to reduce the rate of increase of cell number.
