Migration of about a fifth of ganglionic tracheal branches stalls in stage 16 Pi3K21BScer\UAS.Δ.T:Ivir\HA1; Scer\GAL4bs-23.26 embryos.

Caspase activation in cells posterior to the furrow in eye discs is only slightly reduced by Pi3K92EScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC; Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Expression of Pi3K21BScer\UAS.Δ.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP or Scer\GAL4Adh.PF inhibits larval growth. Clones of cells expressing Pi3K21BScer\UAS.Δ.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP in the salivary glands and fat body are greatly reduced in size and have much smaller nuclei with far less DNA than adjacent control cells. Expression of Pi3K21BScer\UAS.Δ.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Adh.PF, Scer\GAL4en-e16E or Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP has no effect on viability under starvation conditions.

Pi3K21BScer\UAS.Δ.T:Ivir\HA1 clones in the wing disc (driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP) show a reduced cell size and delays in G1 progression. Clones have very few cells compared to controls.

When expression is driven is imaginal disc cells by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP the size of the cells is reduced (as measured by FSC (forward scatter)). Cells are reduced in size in both G1 and S+G2. Overexpression of Pi3K21BScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 or Pi3K21BScer\UAS.Δ.T:Ivir\HA1 is sufficient to reduce the rate of increase of cell number.
