        Heterozygotes show some border follicle cell migration defects.

        Homozygous spermatogonia are found in 48% of testes at day 5 after germline clone induction. A similar number of spermatogonial clones (41%) are detected in control testes, indicating that the progeny of male germ line stem cell clones differentiate rather than die.

        Homozygous clones in the eye show a regular array of ommatidia which contain the wild-type complement of correctly differentiated and positioned photoreceptor cells within the ommatidia. Ommatidial polarity inversions are seen in homozygous clones.
